Kyiv introduces emergency power cuts after Russian strikes
Emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv on Friday, November 6, according to energy company DTEK. The blackouts were implemented by order of Ukrenergo, and current outage schedules are not in effect. The Energy Ministry reported new power disruptions in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions following Russian attacks overnight and in the morning. The situation is most difficult in Kyiv and the region, with Russian forces striking an energy facility in Bila Tserkva. DTEK also reported attacks on several facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving 50,000 families without power. On November 5, new water supply disruptions occurred in the capital, which Mayor Vitali Klitschko attributed to damage to energy equipment supplying electricity to Kyiv.
