Kyiv faces Ukraine's toughest energy supply situation, Zelensky says
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv has the most difficult energy supply situation in Ukraine, with serious challenges facing the capital. He attributed this to failures at the city level in preparing for the heating season and the Russian operation against Ukrainian energy infrastructure. The government is supplying equipment and accelerating repair work, with agreements reached with Germany and Spain to provide generators, cables, and other gear. Additional brigades are being engaged, and Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky reported a program of monthly bonuses for workers involved in restoration efforts. Some Kyiv residents have been without power for five days, facing water and heating issues, as Russian strikes damaged key substations around the city. Zelensky also noted preparations for additional F-16 ammunition supplies and discussions on export solidarity lines with neighboring countries.
