Missile strike hits Proton plant in Oryol, causing large fire

obozrevatel.com (Ukrainian) —

Seven explosions occurred in Oryol, Russia, followed by a large fire at the Proton plant, likely from a missile attack. This is the second strike on the facility in recent weeks. The Proton plant produces optoelectronic equipment, including components for Russian missiles like the S-71K and Iskander-M, and microchips for the Pantsir-S1 system. The previous attack on October 23 damaged the main building. Ukrainian military intelligence says the strikes aim to disrupt production of parts for missiles used against Ukrainian cities. Separately, on November 6, explosions hit the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, which exports fuel products.
