Missile strikes hit Kyiv, injuring 5, as Ukraine, Russia, and US prepare for talks
Missile explosions struck Kyiv early Saturday, injuring at least five people, as Ukraine prepares for new talks with Russia and the United States next week. Negotiators from Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. are scheduled to meet Tuesday in Abu Dhabi for a fourth round of talks brokered by the Trump administration, following the most recent session in Geneva in February. The overnight missile attack damaged homes and commercial properties, closed traffic on a Kyiv bridge, and caused new power and water outages, with energy facilities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions affected. In southern Ukraine, a recovery operation continued in Komyshuvakha, where 55 people were killed Monday when Russian guided bombs struck a former school used as an aid distribution center, with dozens still missing and two more bodies recovered Saturday.
