Russian strike on Zhytomyr energy grid disrupts Kyiv supply
A Russian strike on an energy facility in the Zhytomyr community on the evening of November 6 caused power outages in the city and worsened energy and water supply conditions in Kyiv. Repair crews are assessing the damage at the site, according to Zhytomyr regional military administration head Vitaliy Bunechko, who said the timeline for restoration will be determined after an expert evaluation. An explosion was heard in Zhytomyr at around 19:23 without a prior air raid alert. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported reduced water pressure in the capital's system, with Kyivvodokanal switching to generators where possible. Separately, Russian forces struck the Sumy community with six guided aerial bombs, injuring three people, including one woman with severe injuries.
