Trump at UN defends Iran war decision, urges Hormuz reopening

President Donald Trump defended his decision to start a war with Iran during his Tuesday address to the U.N. General Assembly, while suggesting he faces a choice between negotiating a deal or annihilating the Islamic Republic. Trump called on Iran to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz and return to negotiations, accusing Tehran of stalling until after U.S. midterm elections.
