Iran FM Araghchi in New York as Trump weighs meeting with Pezeshkian

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday for the UN General Assembly, as President Donald Trump prepares to meet Gulf leaders and considers a possible encounter with Iran's president. Araghchi traveled via Doha for consultations with Qatari officials before continuing to the US, while President Masoud Pezeshkian is also due to attend. Trump has said he is "open" to meeting Pezeshkian, with US Ambassador Mike Waltz confirming Trump is "always open to a deal." Iran has conveyed conditions for renewed talks through Qatar, including ending the war, releasing frozen funds, and lifting the naval blockade. Trump, in a "deciding mode" over next steps, will meet Gulf leaders in New York to discuss the Iran war endgame.
