Russian strikes kill five in Ukraine as Zelensky seeks UN support

Russian overnight strikes on Ukraine killed at least five people, including a child, Ukrainian authorities reported Tuesday, as President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in New York to rally support at the UN General Assembly. Four people died in attacks on the eastern city of Dnipro, where governor Oleksandr Ganzha said missiles, drones, and artillery hit warehouses and a company. A separate long-range drone strike in the southern Mykolaiv region killed a three-year-old child and wounded four others. Zelensky is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, writing on X about concrete security proposals and de-escalation steps. Washington has recently revived diplomatic mediation efforts to end the war, which has lasted over four years.
