Zelensky and Macron meet in New York to discuss halting energy strikes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, with the discussion focused on halting strikes on energy infrastructure. Macron, who earlier held talks with US President Donald Trump, said he raised the need for immediate delivery of interceptor missiles for air defense systems to Kyiv and proposed a moratorium between Ukraine and Russia on attacks on energy facilities. He stated that civilian populations must be protected and serious peace negotiations should begin as soon as possible. Before meeting Macron, Zelensky met with US congressmen to thank them for passing a sanctions bill against Russia. The leaders' meeting took place at the residence of France's permanent representative to the UN.
