Zelensky arrives in New York for UN General Assembly and Trump talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in New York to attend the 81st UN General Assembly session, with about 20 meetings planned, including with US President Donald Trump. Zelensky announced the visit on Telegram, listing talks with European leaders, US senators and House members, international organizations, and American companies. He said a new Drone Deal is ready for signing, with priorities being peace and protecting lives. A Crimea Platform summit will also be held. The Zelensky-Trump meeting was agreed during a September 21 phone call and is expected Tuesday. Trump recently signed the Lindsey Graham sanctions law against Russia and Iran. Axios reported Trump urged Zelensky to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries, repeatedly mentioning diesel fuel.
