Zelensky: Russia keeps striking Ukraine's energy grid
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia shows no signs of de-escalating its strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, reporting that 17 ballistic missiles were launched overnight. In his evening address on Friday, October 30, Zelensky said the night was a serious test for Ukrainian air defense. While some Shahed drones were destroyed, intercepting ballistic missiles remains far more difficult, especially given a shortage of Patriot systems. Attacks continued in Dnipro, Kyiv, and the Kyiv region. Zelensky emphasized that strikes on the energy system occur almost daily, targeting generation, grids, and connections, including oil refining infrastructure. He vowed Ukraine's response would be "appropriate and entirely justified," having previously announced expanding the range of Ukrainian deep strikes.
