Ukrainian drone strike on Novokuibyshevsk refinery causes massive fire in Samara region
A Ukrainian drone attack on the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in Russia's Samara region caused a massive fire on the night of October 30, with thick black smoke covering nearly the entire facility and extending beyond the satellite image frame. The smoke obscured the exact number and location of fire sources on the satellite image obtained by NV. Ukraine's Fire Point company confirmed the strike using FP-1 drones, reporting multiple hits, including on a diesel hydrotreating unit. The Novokuibyshevsk refinery, one of Russia's largest with an annual capacity of 8.8 million tons, is part of Rosneft. It produces over 20 products, including fuels for the Russian armed forces, according to Ukraine's General Staff.
