Evacuated Ukrainians from occupied Oleshky cross into Chernihiv region after humanitarian corridor
Ukrainians evacuated from Russian-occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region have crossed the Belarus-Ukraine border in Chernihiv region after a humanitarian operation enabled by a temporary ceasefire. The evacuees traveled via Russia and Belarus, first by bus to Anapa, then by plane to Belarus, and finally by bus to the Ukrainian border. One evacuee, Olha, said she left due to constant shelling, destruction, and food shortages, describing the experience as "returning from hell." President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the operation's completion on October 31. The ceasefire in Oleshky is set to last until 22:59 on November 1, with some residents choosing to remain in the city.
