Russian strike on Chernihiv injures European Solidarity office worker, Poroshenko says
A Russian strike on Chernihiv on October 29 injured Yulia Mekhed, an employee of the local "European Solidarity" party office, according to party leader Petro Poroshenko. She was hit while at work and is receiving medical care. Poroshenko reported the attack targeted central Chernihiv, causing deaths and injuries, and expressed condolences to victims' families. He thanked doctors and rescuers, stating Russia bears full responsibility for these war crimes. Poroshenko also urged partners to provide additional air defense systems and criticized Ukraine's 2027 budget for lacking proper funding for domestic city protection technologies. He warned that unpunished killings of civilians lead to more bloody wars.
