Evacuation of Civilians Begins in Occupied Oleshky, Kherson Oblast

wydarzenia.interia.pl (Polish) —

A ceasefire in occupied Oleshky, Kherson Oblast, took effect on October 27 and will last until November 1, allowing for the evacuation of civilians and delivery of humanitarian aid. Ukrainian officials are on site to oversee the operation. Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets published footage of his meeting with residents, who expressed joy and tears. He stated each resident can choose whether to leave, and those staying will receive aid. Evacuees will be transported via Russian aircraft to Anapa, then through Belarus to Kyiv-controlled territory. Prime Minister Serhii Koretsky initially reported over 500 people planned to leave but later corrected this, saying exact numbers are unknown until the evacuation ends. Medical checks for those entering Ukraine are scheduled to finish by 2 PM today. Oleshky, home to 24,000 before the 2022 invasion, has been cut off by drones and mines, lacking power, heating, and water.
