Demining Complete in Oleshky, Ukraine; Humanitarian Convoy to Deliver Aid
Russia and Ukraine announced Thursday that demining operations around the Russian-held town of Oleshky in southern Ukraine are complete, and a humanitarian convoy is ready to depart. The operation will deliver aid and allow residents to leave. The two sides issued nearly identical statements through their respective human rights commissioners, Yana Lantratova and Dmytro Lubinets. The convoy will head to the district hospital, with residents permitted to evacuate within a specific timeframe under safety guarantees, followed by aid distribution. The mission operates under a localized ceasefire agreed on October 23, brokered by US first lady Melania Trump with Pope Leo's involvement. The town faces acute shortages of food and medicine.
