Ukraine completes evacuation of civilians from occupied Oleshky in Kherson region
Ukraine's human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets announced the completion of civilian evacuations from the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region, following negotiations and a ceasefire agreement. The evacuation, which began on October 30, involved 25 buses with 750 seats. Evacuees included a 94-year-old man and a child over one year old, with some residents transported via Russia's Anapa and Belarus before reaching Ukraine, while others chose to relocate to Russia. Lubinets reported rescuing a family whose father was trapped on the eighth floor without food or water, and another man who survived 16 drone attacks and four missile strikes. Pets, including cats, dogs, a parrot, and a raccoon, were also evacuated. The ceasefire in Oleshky remains in effect until 22:59 on November 1.
