Evacuees from Oleshky arrive in Belarus under local truce
Evacuees from the Ukrainian city of Oleshky arrived in Belarus on Saturday as part of a localized humanitarian truce between Kyiv and Moscow, with Ukrainian officials confirming their return home is imminent. The fourth and final aircraft carrying evacuees landed in Gomel, southeastern Belarus, according to Ukrainian politician David Arakhamia. Russia's defense ministry confirmed the flight, and US First Lady Melania Trump, who helped broker the ceasefire, said over 750 people chose to leave, with 25 buses and medical personnel involved. The truce lasts until Sunday evening. Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that around 280,000 households lost power after Russian strikes overnight, including 200,000 in the Dnipro region and 80,000 in the Kyiv region. He said a combined heat and power plant and four electrical substations were hit, with repair crews working to restore electricity.
