Russia Accuses Ukraine of Drone Strike on Civilian Car in Oleshky
Russia accused Ukrainian forces of violating the US-mediated humanitarian truce in Oleshky, striking a civilian car with a drone and wounding two occupants, one day before the ceasefire's scheduled expiration. Moscow's special envoy Rodion Miroshnik reported the attack on Telegram, stating the vehicle was leaving the city for food purchases when hit. The two injured civilians were transported to a district hospital. The truce, mediated by Melania Trump, began Tuesday and was set to last until Sunday. Three Russian military planes carrying civilians evacuated from Oleshky landed in Gomel, Belarus, marking the first humanitarian operation of its kind since the February 2022 invasion. Over 200 residents chose to reach Ukrainian-controlled territories, while dozens opted for Russian-occupied areas.
