Kyiv and two regions face prolonged blackouts after Russian strikes on power grid
Electricity supply remains difficult in Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, Ukraine's Energy Ministry reported. Significant damage to transmission systems and transformer equipment requires time for full restoration. Repair crews have restored power to critical infrastructure and some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, while restoration work continues in Kyiv and its region. Long air raid alerts and the constant threat of repeated strikes are complicating repair efforts. On October 30, hourly outage schedules were temporarily suspended on Kyiv's right bank due to an accident on damaged equipment. Nationwide consumption limits apply from 06:00 to 23:59, with outages of 6-10 hours for all consumer categories. Russia conducted 126 attacks on Ukraine's energy and oil-gas sectors in the past week.
