Evacuated Oleshky residents travel via Anapa to Ukraine

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

A Ukrainian delegation and evacuated residents from occupied Oleshky have departed for the Russian city of Anapa, according to parliamentary faction leader Davyd Arakhamia on October 30. From Anapa, the evacuees will be flown to Belarus and then transported by bus back to Ukraine. The evacuation follows the completion of mine clearance and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the city, with 25 buses and ambulances prepared for residents wishing to leave by 2:00 PM that day. The evacuation route was necessitated because residents cannot travel directly to Ukrainian-controlled territory. Around 1,700 people remained in Oleshky, prompting a humanitarian ceasefire brokered with US First Lady Melania Trump's involvement, which began October 27 and is set to last until November 1.
