Flights from Istanbul to Moscow turn back due to airport restrictions

gazeta.ru (Russian) —

Four passenger planes flying from Istanbul to Moscow turned back due to restrictions introduced at Moscow airports, according to a TASS source in air traffic control services. Three aircraft heading to Vnukovo reversed course over Poland, while a fourth turned back over the Tver region. The planes are expected to land in Istanbul at the new international airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures were imposed on the evening of October 29 at Moscow's Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky airports to ensure flight safety. The measures followed a drone attack on the Moscow region, with Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reporting that 15 drones were destroyed by air defense. Earlier, pilots of two aircraft had spotted a drone near a Moscow airport.
