Russian missile strike kills one in Kyiv
One person was killed in a Russian missile attack on Kyiv late Thursday evening, according to Ukrainian authorities. The strike targeted the capital just before 11 p.m. local time. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that an attack on warehouse buildings east of the Dnipro River caused multiple fires, while a nearby building was damaged by falling debris that also sparked a blaze. Earlier Thursday, at least 14 people were killed and 14 wounded in a Russian drone strike on a busy train platform in Dnipro, about 400 kilometers southeast of Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the Dnipro attack as terrible and called for allied action, noting it hit a platform with both local and passenger trains. An 11-year-old boy was among the wounded, and a man had both legs amputated. Zelenskyy stressed that sanctions on Moscow must not be eased while the war continues.
