Ukraine's humanitarian operation in occupied Oleshky must continue, says Budanov

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, said on Friday, October 30, that the ongoing humanitarian operation in occupied Oleshky, Kherson region, is important and must continue. The operation's main phase began on Friday, with a humanitarian convoy delivering aid to the city after demining routes. Transport is prepared for residents wishing to evacuate to Ukrainian-controlled territory, with 25 buses providing 750 seats and ambulances for those with limited mobility available until 14:00. Ukraine's human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets coordinates the operation, which follows a local ceasefire brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump. About 1,700 people remain in Oleshky lacking food and medicine, with the truce zone later expanded beyond the city to ensure safe passage for convoys.
