Russia May Attack Kherson After Oleshky Ceasefire, Ukraine Says

podrobnosti.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukrainian military officials report that Russia may be preparing a large-scale offensive on Kherson, using a temporary ceasefire in occupied Oleshky to move troops and equipment, according to German outlet BILD. The attack could begin after the truce ends on November 1, though no independent confirmation exists. Ukrainian soldiers told BILD they filmed Russian KamAZ trucks continuously transporting combat units, while the industrial zone of Kakhovka is being equipped with anti-drone nets. Near the village of Radensk, Russian forces have positioned numerous Grad rocket launchers, reinforcing shelters and cutting down trees, with residents of Hola Prystan also reporting heavy military vehicle movement. Another soldier said drone units are moving closer to the Dnipro River, not ruling out attempts to cross it after the ceasefire. The ceasefire in Oleshky was brokered with Vatican mediation and US First Lady Melania Trump's involvement, aiming to evacuate nearly 2,000 civilians from the occupied city starting Saturday, October 31. However, lack of internet means many residents are unaware they must pre-register, and evacuees are reportedly banned from bringing pets. Newsmax will cover the humanitarian mission, Melania Trump announced.
