Russian Deputy PM: Ukraine strikes three refineries and gas chemical plant
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said Ukrainian forces attacked three Russian oil refineries and one gas chemical complex on Friday, with one plant sustaining minor damage. The attacks reportedly resumed after a pause. Novak did not specify which facilities were hit, though reports identified the Novokuibyshevsky refinery in Samara Oblast as one target, with Ukrainian company Fire Point confirming drone strikes on its diesel hydrotreating unit. Kyiv has not officially commented. The attacks follow a US-brokered agreement on halting energy infrastructure strikes, which Kyiv said it resumed after Russian violations. Novak also said Russia plans to extend its diesel export ban through January 2027, with exceptions for global market supplies.
