Ukrainian drones strike Moscow, disrupting flights and sparking panic
Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow on Wednesday, with air defenses shooting down 10 approaching the Russian capital, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. The attack disrupted flights and sparked panic among residents. The incident follows Russia intercepting 16 missiles near Moscow and 71 across other regions the previous day. Around 150 flights were cancelled or delayed at three major airports, and mobile internet access was restricted. Explosions and car alarms were reported in western Moscow districts. The drone strike coincided with an international gas summit addressed by Vladimir Putin. Separately, a localised ceasefire in Oleshky, Ukraine, began Tuesday and is due to last until Sunday, with no violations reported in 30 hours.
