Ukraine Strikes Two Russian Oil Refineries, Killing One

Ukraine's military struck two Russian oil refineries overnight into Tuesday, causing fires at the Kuibyshev refinery in Samara Oblast and the Ufa refinery, while Russian strikes on Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Pavlohrad killed at least four people. The Ufa refinery, with an annual capacity of 7.5 million tons, produces gasoline, diesel, and liquefied gases. The Kuibyshev refinery, part of Rosneft, processes about seven million tons annually and supplies fuel to Russian forces. One person died and four were injured in the Samara attacks. Russia's overnight assault also damaged an apartment building in Kyiv, injured four people, and left nearly 100,000 customers without power in Chernihiv Oblast. The Moscow refinery has halted production after a Ukrainian drone attack on Sunday, with repairs potentially taking weeks. President Donald Trump stated Russia has lost control of its diesel production, while President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes for results this year from the FREYJA ballistic missile defense program. Ukraine estimates Russia lost 1,230 soldiers in the past day.
