Russian Drone Strikes Leave Hundreds of Thousands of Ukrainians Without Power

korrespondent.net (Russian) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are without power following Russian overnight drone attacks on energy infrastructure, with the situation remaining critical in Kyiv and other regions. Zelensky stated that Russian drones struck a thermal power plant in Kyiv, four electrical substations in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and a thermal plant in Shostka. Approximately 200,000 families in Dnipro and over 80,000 in the Kyiv region are without electricity, while repair crews work to restore power. Ukrenergo confirmed the grid faces new attacks before previous damage was fully repaired, with emergency restoration ongoing where security permits. Zelensky called for stronger sanctions and support packages, noting Russia attacked with 134 drones overnight, of which 72 were jet-powered.
