Kherson residents warned of Russian provocations during ceasefire
Residents of Ukraine's Kherson region are being warned of potential Russian provocations during the ongoing ceasefire, according to local military administration head Yaroslav Shanko. Shanko said Russian media are spreading statements suggesting preparation for provocations that could be used as a pretext to break the truce, which runs from October 27 to November 1, 2026. He urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid crowded places and high-risk zones. Military spokesman Maksym Kravchuk said Russian forces used the pause to rotate units, fortify positions, and stockpile ammunition, while also conducting reconnaissance drone flights and dropping munitions, allegedly to discredit Ukraine's defense forces.
