Zelensky: Russian mass attack on nine regions hits energy, hospitals
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia launched a massive overnight attack on critical infrastructure across nine Ukrainian regions, targeting energy facilities and causing casualties. He called the timing of the attack, coinciding with US Congressional elections, highly symbolic. The attack involved 17 ballistic missiles, 59 cruise missiles, and 289 drones. In Kharkiv, a strike hit a city clinical hospital, injuring 73 people and damaging a cardiology department. In Zaporizhzhia region, the death toll from a separate attack in Komyshuvakha rose to 29, with five wounded and more people trapped under rubble. Zelensky stated that emergency power outages are ongoing in many cities and communities. He urged America to notice and stop such terror, emphasizing the need to help Ukraine protect its skies, as Russia will not cease missile strikes otherwise. Air defense reportedly neutralized 309 enemy targets.
