Ukraine warns of Russian attack during US midterms
Ukraine's intelligence service warns that Russia is planning a massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and logistics targets during the US midterm elections, when global attention is focused on the American vote. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the world will not notice Ukraine's struggles with air defense and Patriot missiles during the elections, and urged the international community to pressure Russia by continuing attacks on its oil industry and restricting its international business. The warning comes as Ukraine faces shortages of Patriot interceptor missiles, which are also in high demand due to the Iran conflict. Separately, Latvia issued a brief airspace alert after an unidentified object, possibly a Ukrainian drone, crossed its border.
