Russia to Resume Trilateral Talks with Ukraine and US in Abu Dhabi

laopiniondemalaga.es (Spanish) —

Russia announced Tuesday the resumption of trilateral negotiations with Ukraine and the US, acting as mediator, on November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi to seek a diplomatic end to the war. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov confirmed the talks, though Kyiv has not yet confirmed participation. Vladimir Medinski will lead the Russian delegation, having participated in earlier trilateral talks suspended after the US-Israel war with Iran began. The agenda covers post-war security agreements, de-escalation, and humanitarian aid, according to US envoy Steve Witkoff, who cited progress from meetings in Kiev, Oslo, and St. Petersburg. Negotiations remain deadlocked over Moscow's demand for Ukrainian withdrawal from Donetsk areas, which Kyiv rejects as leaving the country vulnerable. Separately, the European Commission will host high-level officials Wednesday from Ukraine, the US, the UK, France, Germany, NATO, and the World Bank to discuss peace and reconstruction efforts.
