Russian strikes halt generation at three DTEK thermal power plants
Russia attacked three DTEK thermal power plants with dozens of missiles and drones overnight and on the morning of November 3, forcing the stations to halt electricity generation, the company reported. DTEK stated the destruction is extensive and the plants have stopped producing power. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi said large power stations in Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, and Kharkiv regions were hit, along with key substations in western Ukraine, causing significant damage to both generation and grid infrastructure. The Air Force reported Russia used ballistic missiles, 59 cruise missiles, and nearly 300 drones in the attack. Explosions were heard in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia regions, with damage reported to energy facilities, a hospice, and a police station.
