Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy grid cause power and water outages in Kyiv
Russia launched one of its largest attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure since the night of November 3, causing significant damage and triggering emergency power outages across multiple regions, including Kyiv. Ukrenergo reported over 20 strikes on energy facilities in the past day, leading to outages exceeding 12 hours in some areas. Sumy and Poltava regions introduced special blackout schedules, while Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described an extremely difficult electricity situation and opened heating points for affected residents. These are the first outages of this scale this autumn, according to Ukrainska Pravda. Water supply in Kyiv has also been disrupted as a result of the attacks.
