Russian forces strike energy infrastructure in six Ukrainian regions
Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on the evening of November 3 and night of November 4, causing damage in six regions. The strikes affected Ternopil, Kirovohrad, Rivne, Volyn, Odesa, and Zhytomyr oblasts, according to regional military administration heads. In Volyn, an energy facility in Kovel district was hit, causing power disruptions across much of the region before supply was restored by morning. Zhytomyr saw energy sites and private homes damaged, with one house and a car hit, though no casualties were reported. Odesa reported strikes on an energy object, a shopping center, and private buildings, with the fire extinguished. Kirovohrad and Ternopil also reported drone hits on energy infrastructure, with property damage but no deaths or injuries. Ukrenergo stated that Russia carried out one of its largest attacks on Ukraine's energy system, with over 20 targeted strikes on energy facilities in the previous day alone using an unprecedented number of weapons. The company said the November 3 shelling further complicated the situation in Ukraine's power grid.
