US, Russia, Ukraine to hold trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi
The United States, Russia, and Ukraine have announced new trilateral negotiations in Abu Dhabi next week, despite ongoing deadly attacks and no end to the nearly five-year war in sight. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said the talks will cover post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian aid, and next steps toward peace. The working-level meetings follow previous sessions in Geneva and Abu Dhabi, with US envoys consulting European allies in Brussels beforehand. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a potential Russian mass attack during US midterm elections, while at least 26 people were killed in a Russian airstrike near Zaporizhzhia. Russia and Ukraine also exchanged cyberattacks on their air-raid warning apps.
