Russia and Ukraine to Hold US-Mediated Talks in Abu Dhabi

24.hu (Hungarian) —

Russia and Ukraine will hold US-mediated talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11, focusing on post-war security measures, de-escalation, and next steps toward peace, announced US envoy Steve Witkoff on Monday. The talks follow Russia's late-October statement that it was ready to resume peace negotiations, which have been stalled since early this year. The last trilateral meeting in Geneva in mid-February failed to resolve the conflict as both sides maintained their positions. Witkoff also said US negotiators will visit Brussels this week to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine with France, Germany, the UK, EU, and NATO representatives. Fighting continues despite diplomatic efforts, as a Russian airstrike hit a hospital in Kharkiv overnight, injuring dozens and forcing the evacuation of 200 patients. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 69 drones targeting Moscow, while a Ukrainian drone attack on a bus in the Luhansk region killed one person and wounded eight.
