Ukraine strikes major Russian oil refinery in Yaroslavl

nettavisen.no (Swedish) —

Ukraine attacked one of Russia's largest oil refineries overnight, causing a major fire. The strike targeted the Slavneft-Yanos facility in Yaroslavl, northeast of Moscow, injuring two people. The attack used rockets and drones, damaging the refinery's infrastructure and sparking at least five fires. Debris from downed drones also broke windows in residential buildings and damaged cars, while traffic between Yaroslavl and Moscow was halted. Russian officials reported nearly 500 drones intercepted near Moscow and about 850 downed nationwide, with state media calling it one of the largest such attacks. The refinery, with a 15-million-ton annual capacity, was previously hit in mid-September.
