Russian strike kills dozens in Ukrainian village
At least 40 civilians were killed in a Russian strike on the village of Komyshuvakha in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia district on Monday evening, with a school used for humanitarian aid distribution among the targets hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, stating Russia must have known the decommissioned school was used for aid, and criticized the lack of global reaction. Russia claims the strike killed 25 Ukrainian soldiers and targeted military units. Separately, Zelenskyy awarded US First Lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, First Class, for her role in brokering a local ceasefire that enabled evacuations in Oleshky. Russia also struck two power plants and a cargo ship, while Zelenskyy visited Spain for defense talks.
