Zelensky Accuses Russia of Destroying Peace Hopes After Deadly Zaporizhzhia Attack

dn.pt (Portuguese) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia on Monday of destroying any "progress toward peace" after an attack killed at least 29 people during humanitarian aid distribution in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region. The strike used at least nine FAB-3000 guided bombs, with a second attack targeting a shelter where people had fled. Overnight, Russian strikes also hit a hospital in Kherson, injuring 46 and forcing the evacuation of 200 patients, alongside energy infrastructure in multiple regions. US envoy Steve Witkoff announced working negotiations between Russia and Ukraine for November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi, focusing on post-war security and humanitarian efforts. However, a previous February meeting in Geneva ended without results, and Russia refused to extend a local ceasefire in Kherson that ended Sunday night.
