Russian strike on Komyshuvakha school kills 31, leaves 59 missing
Russian forces conducted a series of airstrikes on November 2 on Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing at least 31 people and leaving 59 missing. The attack targeted a school where civilians were receiving humanitarian aid and a shelter. Rescuers recovered 31 bodies from the rubble, with 12 victims identified, while an estimated 38 people may remain trapped. Russian propaganda channels publicly shared video of the strike, claiming the school housed drone operators from Ukraine's 128th brigade, a claim Ukrainian journalist Denys Kazansky called a cynical act of terrorism. The attack involved a three-ton bomb on the school, followed by nine more airstrikes on the shelter, killing two emergency workers and four police officers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated Russian forces knew civilians were present.
