Ukraine strikes Russia's Yaroslavl oil refinery for second time this fall

ru.themoscowtimes.com (Russian) —

Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on the Yaroslavl region overnight, striking one of Russia's largest oil refineries for the second time this fall, regional governor Mikhail Yevrayev reported. Two workers were injured and infrastructure was damaged. The attack on the Slavneft-YANOS refinery involved 124 drones shot down over the region, with at least five large fires visible at the facility. The plant, controlled by Rosneft and Gazprom, processes about 15 million tons of oil annually and supplies fuel to Moscow and other central regions. This strike follows a September attack that damaged a unit providing 40% of the refinery's capacity. Ukrainian forces resumed strikes on Russian refineries in late October after a two-week pause, hitting facilities in Novokuybyshevsk, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, and Samara. President Zelensky offered to halt such attacks if the US provides Patriot missiles.
