Russian Strike on Ukrainian Aid Post Kills 26 Near Zaporizhzhia

nos.nl (Dutch) —

Ukrainian President Zelensky reports at least 26 people killed and five wounded in Russian airstrikes on a village near Zaporizhzhia. Around twenty more people are reported missing. The strikes targeted a former school in Komyshuvakha, near the front line, where aid was being distributed and people were sheltering. Zelensky says Russia launched two attacks in succession, with nine bombs following the first to hit rescuers and police. Zelensky calls it a "blatantly horrific attack" and says Russia must have known weekly aid distributions occurred there. He states this proves Russia does not want de-escalation, contrasting with evacuation efforts in Oleshky over the weekend. Russia has not yet responded.
