Iran tells UN: We have been victims of terrorism

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the UN General Assembly in New York, sharply criticizing the US and President Donald Trump, who had labeled Iran a terrorist state. Pezeshkian asserted that Iran has been a victim of terrorism. The sole US delegate present left the room shortly after Pezeshkian began speaking. Pezeshkian argued that Trump's statements contradict international law and the UN Charter, adding that sanctions and pressure will only strengthen Iranian resistance. The address comes amid heightened tensions, with the US having recently blocked international election observers from its midterm elections, a break from established democratic practice according to the OSCE.
