Ukraine to mass-produce jet Shahed interceptors after tests

Ukrainian company Wild Hornets will begin mass production of interceptors for Russian jet-powered Shahed drones within a month after combat tests conclude, a company representative told NV. The interceptors are currently undergoing testing. The company began developing the new-generation interceptor in early 2026, describing it as a new product rather than an upgrade. Engineers also developed the Hornet Vision Ctrl remote control system to help experienced pilots intercept targets across different directions. The main challenge in intercepting jet drones is their speed, with future Russian models potentially reaching 700-800 km/h. The company prioritizes creating a cheap, mass-producible, and easy-to-use countermeasure. Ukrainian Sting S drones have already destroyed about ten Geran-4 drones and several Geran-5 missiles.
