Trump disputes FBI claim on North Korean hackers in Binance theft

rbc.ua (Ukrainian) —

US President Donald Trump disputed the FBI's claim that North Korean hackers were behind the theft from cryptocurrency exchange Binance, stating the investigation is ongoing. He said the US is not certain of North Korea's involvement but would discuss the matter if confirmed. The FBI had accused North Korean hackers of attacking Binance on October 29, resulting in over $6 billion being withdrawn from the platform, with nearly $3 billion initially taken from hot wallets. Trump made the remarks during a press briefing at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Analysts from TRM Labs also linked the attack to the North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor. Authorities expect the hackers to launder the stolen funds through various virtual platforms.
