The FBI has accused North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor of stealing over $6 billion in cryptocurrency from exchange Binance, marking the largest crypto heist in history. Binance reported losses of $6.3 billion, with hackers withdrawing most funds in about 20 minutes after preparing for at least 36 hours. The exchange believes attackers accessed systems via an engineer's laptop. Binance has frozen roughly $3 billion in stolen assets and covered $6 billion of losses by October 31. The FBI previously linked TraderTraitor to a $1.5 billion Bybit hack in February 2025.
