Binance users withdrew $3.64 billion within 9.5 hours after the exchange restored withdrawals following a $6.3 billion security breach, triggering a temporary suspension of services. Total withdrawal volumes reached $4.64 billion, offset by $1.01 billion in deposits, representing 2.1% of Binance's $171 billion in assets under management. The exchange said flows stabilized quickly and confirmed affected customer funds would be fully compensated. Binance restored withdrawals across 15 blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, with other cryptocurrencies pending security audits. The exchange has covered 95% of affected funds and will absorb losses rather than pass them to customers.
