North Korean hackers stole 18,270 bitcoins from crypto exchange Binance, surpassing Tesla's holdings and valued at approximately $1.4 billion, according to reports on November 1. The stolen bitcoins exceed Tesla's 11,509 coins by about 59% and are nearly three times North Korea's annual goods exports of $468.59 million. The FBI attributed the attack to the North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor. Total stolen assets, including Ethereum and stablecoins, reached about $6.3 billion, the largest single hack ever. Binance recovered or froze roughly $3 billion and is compensating customer losses.
